Boise State coach Chris Petersen says it's up to his team to answer any lingering questions about whether the Broncos are good enough to be ranked No. 3 in the country. “For all that stuff, we just need to play more football,” Petersen said Monday.

It looks as if Boise State was better with its scheduling than Virginia Tech, too. The Broncos insisted on having the weekend off after the Labor Day showdown with Virginia Tech before agreeing to the schedule change.

Boise State is keeping up with the big boys in television ratings, too. The non-BCS conference Broncos' statement victory over Virginia Tech on Monday night matched last year's Southern California-Ohio State thriller as the highest-rated college football game on ESPN since 1994.
